ALICE WEST PO BOX 1626 BATTLE GROUND, WA. 98604 (360) 687-4681
Alice Y (Stanton) West, as a child, accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and began singing gospel music at a very young age. She loved of all kinds of music but Gospel was her favorite. Recognizing that the Holy Spirit was her teacher, Alice developed a strong desire to play the piano and at the age of about nine she began to put chords and songs together. Singing was always her gift. From grade school, to junior high girls glee club, and on to senior high concert choir, girls chorus, concert band (she played drums and percussion). She also sang in a sextet, quartet, and has been a soloist. During her teen years, in addition to being very busy singing in school, she was very active in her local church music activities. Alice attributes her desire and ability to sing and play (especially Gospel) to her mother and aunt who were both very talented and was very inspirational in her life. After graduation from high school, she married a man in the air force. She slowly drifted away from church and her savior. After a long period of believing that Jesus would never take her back, in 1984 the first Sunday in January encouraged by a family friend, Alice was gloriously returned to the care of her savior Jesus Christ and was wonderfully washed in His blood from head to foot. After her return to Jesus, she became the piano player and alto singer for a group organized by her father in law, Ed West. They sang in nursing homes, convalescent centers, retirement centers, and many churches in the Portland, Vancouver area. They also performed three years at the Clark County Fair. Every two years Alice goes to South Dakota and teems up with her cousin, Donnie Stanford, who organizes meetings on the Sioux reservation where they are enrolled. Besides South Dakota, Alice (Jesus and Me Ministries) has ministered in Washington, Colorado, Utah Arizona and Maryland. Alice works as care giver for the state of Washington and is involved in music in her local church in Kelso, Washington where she also teaches adult Sunday school. Alice is delighted to be a member of “The Ambassadors of Gospel Music” The artists involved are so talented and seem to have the desire to minister to people in music with God’s anointing. That’s what it’s all about.
